Charity begins at Home---please click and help

I know there are a lot af animal lovers around, and also those who are concerned about the Rainforests.

This link will take you to the animal rescuse site and at the top of that page are several other charities  all in need of your help.It is only a click. Usually I do more than one click at a time  to help them along.

Please help ! And please pass this around, and save it to your desktop so you can click a day .Thanks

Have a happy Christmas everyone.

The animal rescue site has said that they are not getting enough clicks on the purple box,its free, to help feed all the homeless animals brought to shelters so please please try and click each day and tell your friends.Especially now that it is so cold .Most people do not realize that kittens are born in the winter too, that is why it is so important to get your cats fixed.

Saving the best till last!

With difficulty I have saved up a good news to write here,on the last day of the year..

Somehow with so many problems ,troubles and illnesses in other blogs,it seemed a bit self indulgent to have good news !
However,it has to be told and that is

Jo (dh) is now retired .RETIRED ! yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

As from 01.01.08 officially. We have known for a while ,but not very long, that his application for retirement which he sent in the day after his 58th birthday in July, was successful. We are very lucky, and very pleased.
He has worked at the Police Training Academy for 41 years and enough is enough. The acceptance of his application came through on 19th November, and some hard weeks were spent training the new guy.

So,we have been granted some extra time to work a bit harder at the book (or it may turn out to be a CDRom!) continuing the Family History. My great grandfather wrote a book about the family history in 1903 ,and it needs updating.
My mother started researching many, many years ago,but of course had no internet to look in.Jo took over from her and has since found many relatives and distant relatives (hallo Linda, hallo Gill!) that we did not know we had.
Now the info gathered is rather a lot so we will work on it together and hopefully publish one day. No promises!

Happy New Year to you all,and may 2008 be a good, and above all,a healthy year for you all.

The Rules of Cricket

I know a lot of non British people read my blog( I see you in the feedback log, welcome, who ever you are.....) so I thought you might like to read about the famous cricket that is so popular in UK......enjoy !

Rules of Cricket:

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in
the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next
man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out
comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those
coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out,
and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they
decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and
all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the
men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of
the game.
